This Privacy Policy explains how SGTech ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the ArthBook application (the "App") — available on Android, iOS, and Windows. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information — name, email address, and password (or Google sign-in) when you create an account.
- Business information — your business name, address, GSTIN, bank details, and company setup data.
- Business records — customers, suppliers, inventory items, invoices, transactions, payroll records, and other data you enter into the App. This data is yours; we process it only to provide the service.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device information — device type, operating system, and app version (used for compatibility and crash reporting).
- Usage analytics — anonymized feature-usage statistics to improve the App.
- Crash reports — diagnostic data when the App crashes, to fix bugs.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not sell or rent your personal or business data.
- We do not scan your business records for advertising or profiling purposes.
- We do not collect your customers' or employees' data except as it is part of the business records you voluntarily enter.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Process subscription payments (handled by app stores — Google Play, Apple App Store, Microsoft Store — we never see your full payment card details).
- Send you technical notices, support messages, and service updates.
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Data Storage & Security
- Local-first: your business data is stored in an encrypted on-device database (SQLite). It stays on your device unless you enable cloud features.
- Encryption: data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 with keys derived from your password. We do not have access to your encryption keys.
- Optional cloud sync/backup: if enabled, your data is transmitted to Firebase (auth, Firestore) and encrypted before leaving your device. You can disable sync or backup at any time.
- Windows version: the Windows desktop app stores the same local database on your computer. The Gate companion app stores its data locally as well.
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except:
- With your explicit consent.
- To comply with legal obligations or a valid legal request.
- To protect our rights, safety, or property.
- To service providers who help us operate (e.g. cloud hosting, crash reporting) — only to the extent needed, and under confidentiality obligations.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal and business data (it is stored on your device).
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Export your data (the App provides export features).
- Delete your data — delete individual records, wipe the local database, or delete your account.
- Withdraw consent for cloud sync/backup at any time.

Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
