Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ArthBook application (the "App") — available on Android, iOS, and Windows — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Description of Service
ArthBook is an accounting, billing, and business-management application designed for Indian small and medium businesses. It provides invoicing, inventory management, GST/TDS compliance support, payroll, banking reconciliation, financial reporting, and related features.
ArthBook ships in two products:
- ArthBook ERP — the full accounting and business-management suite (Android, iOS, Windows).
- ArthBook Gate — a companion app for warehouse/gate operations such as challans, attendance, and stock movement (Android, iOS).
User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and any device on which the App is installed.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the service.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Your Data & Local-First Design
- ArthBook is local-first: your business data (invoices, ledgers, inventory, payroll) is stored in an on-device database. You retain full ownership of this data.
- Optional cloud features (e.g. account sync, backup) may transmit encrypted copies of your data to our service. You may disable these at any time.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of the financial, tax, and business data you enter, and for ensuring your use complies with applicable Indian tax law (GST, TDS, PF/ESI, etc.).
- ArthBook provides compliance support and calculations but is not a substitute for professional tax or legal advice. We do not guarantee that any filing, return, or report generated by the App is accepted by any government authority.
Subscriptions & Payment
- Certain features require a paid subscription (currently: Lite, Pro, and Intelligent tiers; a Free tier is also available).
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually on the terms shown at checkout.
- Feature availability and limits vary by tier. Downgrading or cancelling may remove access to tier-gated features but will not delete your locally stored data.
- Refunds are provided according to applicable law and store policies (Google Play, Apple App Store, or Microsoft Store as applicable).
- You authorize us (or our payment processors) to charge the payment method on file for the subscription term.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Indian law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, another user’s account, or the cloud services.
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the App.
- Upload malicious code, or use the App to transmit malware.
- Misrepresent the App’s output (e.g. fabricated filings, ARNs, or challan numbers) as authentic government-issued documents.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App except as expressly permitted.
Intellectual Property
- The App, its code, design, and content are owned by SGTech and protected by copyright and other laws.
- You retain all ownership of the business data you create using the App.
- You grant us a limited license to process and store your data solely to provide and improve the service (see our Privacy Policy).
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
- Loss of data, profits, or business interruption (even if data is lost despite our backups).
- Errors in financial or tax calculations you relied upon.
- Damages exceeding the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
- You may stop using and delete the App at any time; this does not delete data stored on third-party backups you initiated.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or fail to pay.
- On termination, tier-gated features cease, but we will make reasonable efforts to let you export your locally stored data.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hathras, Uttar Pradesh.
